Over the last twelve months, Hull Harlots has embarked on a journey through the captivating world of burlesque, exploring various styles and themes that have both challenged and delighted our dancers. With each term, our students have delved into different aspects of burlesque, starting with the elegance of Classic Burlesque, moving through the sultry beats of Bump and Grind, and embracing the dramatic flair of Broadway Burlesque, amongst others. The dedication to mastering routines such as “I Just Want To Make Love To You” with its glove and boa finesse, to the boldness of “S&M” in our Neo Burlesque term, illustrates the versatility and commitment of our dancers.

The progression from feather fan routines in Feather Fan Burlesque to the show-stopping “Santa Baby” performance in ShowGirl Burlesque, without the assistance of props, showcases the increasing confidence and skill within our community. Each class has not just been about learning steps, but about embodying the empowering essence of burlesque, fostering an environment where creativity, self-expression, and camaraderie flourish. Amidst the dazzling array of performances that illuminated the evening, the Hull Harlots presented a show-stopping group routine to 'Hey Big Spender' that truly captured the essence of burlesque.
